Western States Pact may Keep Orange County Waiting to Open Businesses
Orange County has seen protesting over the past few weeks in support of opening businesses and resuming life. As impatient as county residents may be, there are some challenges Orange County has to face outside the county before opening up. In a press conference Monday, Governor Newsom said any decisions on reopening would be done in collaboration with other western states. Currently there is a Western Pact with California and four other Western states.

OC Public Health Director in Charge of Covid-19 Testing Unexpectedly Resigns and Retires
David M. Souleles, Director of Orange County Public Health Services announced his retirement on April 23. Mr. Souleles was in charge of Covid-19 testing in the county and exactly one day after Orange County rolled out a Covid-19 testing plan he publicized his retirement.
Stores Must Provide Free Bags During Covid-19
California Governor Newsom issued an order April 23 for all stores to waive bag fees for customers. Newsom's order comes after customers not being allowed to use their own bags inside stores.
$65 PCR Covid-19 Testing in Orange County
Orange County has officially set up $65 Covid-19 testing centers for insured and uninsured patients.
UCI Health, Alta-Med and Nhan Hoa Comprehensive Health Care Clinic are named as the primary provider of testing sites. Covid-19 testing centers in Orange County are concentrated around mid-county by Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Huntington Beach, Orange and Irvine. A testing site in San Clemente is setup for local patients with a doctors order to be tested.

Essential Workers Required to Wear Masks in OC
Starting Friday, April 24 some essential workers in Orange County are required to wear face masks while at work. The directive does not apply to customers. Vice Chairman Andrew Do, First District Supervisor, initiated the directive synonymous with the April 1 guidance from the California Department of Public Health, suggesting face coverings to be worn in public.
