Covid-19 has changed aspects of everyday lives, some reverting to past habits and products. Through the pandemic we have seen the return of plastic bags in grocery stores and a ban of using personal bags. We also have seen California's recycling centers limiting intake and operating hours. Lake Forest Enters Stage 2 of Reopening
Today Lake Forest opened some businesses under stage two of local and state guidelines named the "Resilience Roadmap." Businesses may open as long as they comply with the guidelines voted on by the Orange County Board of Supervisors as well as state and federal orders.
OC Beaches Open Just in Time for Bioluminescence
Bioluminescence has made its way to Orange County shores for the first time in three years and today residents can see it just in time as OC beaches reopen under state approval. The phenomenon made its way onto Orange County shores in the last week of April and has been attracting residents to beaches after sunset. Supervisor Lisa Bartlett made a Facebook post earlier today saying Orange County received approval from the state to open county beaches for recreational activities.
City Hall to Reopen May 18 – Lake Forest 4th of July Parade Cancelled
Lake Forest has decided to reopen city hall to the public on May 18 and will hold it's first city council meeting the following day May 19. Lake Forest's 4th of July parade has been cancelled.

State Emergency Feeding Program

The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) issued guidance for the Emergency Feeding Program which outlines program eligibility, funding ratios of 75% FEMA, 19% State and 6% local, and reimbursement rates for restaurants by meal. Currently, funding for this program will be available from April 24, 2020 through May 10, 2020.
