At today's County of Orange press conference for covid-19 Sheriff Don Barnes says he has filed an order with the court to allow inmate release up to 60-days early. The order filed early last week was originally turned down because Orange County jails are not at full capacity. An amended order allows Orange County jails to early release inmates with 60-days or less on their sentences.

Bagels & Brew in Lake Forest has expanded its operations to help supply much needed groceries to the community. In a recent Facebook post, Bagels & Brew announced that they will be selling fresh chicken, eggs, ground beef, and toilet paper. See graphic below for the complete list of items on sale. Please be advised that purchase limits do apply. Supplies are limited and they urge residents to call ahead to place an order. The United States President declared a national state of emergency Friday, March 13 in response to the covid-19 pandemic. Coupled with the Stafford act and a national public health emergency, the United States government is trying to contain and slow the spread of covid-19. The last enactment of a national state of emergency for public health was under Obama in October 2009 for the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic.

Bagels & Brew will also continue to accept catering orders for locals and families who wish to place larger orders.
